Film Poster Analysis
1. Blade Runner
From what i can see in the poster i think the film is about a man who is on the run from something and that people of higher rank than him are searching for him in order to kill him. I think the film is a sci-fi, action movie because of the hovering vehicles and the main character holding a gun. I think the target audience would be for adults as it doesn't really suggest that it will have anything that is suitable for younger audiences which is evident from the female character on the poster smoking which isn't something that would be advertised to kids.
2. Scary Movie 2
I think this film is about people watching a scary whist being in one in real life and also it may have a comedic element to it as it says at the top of the poster "absolutely hilarious".the story line of this film may be a couple of young adults watching a movie and during the movie lots of horrible things happen to each character one by one. The genre of this movie may be horror and comedy. the target audience may be aimed at people who are teenagers and above this may be because the 3 actors in the front look quite young which could be more appealing to a younger audience.
3. UZAK
This film could be a narrative from the main character's perspective during a time of war and difficulties. the story line of this film could contain many personal struggles and loneliness since in the poster he is standing alone. I think the genre of this film is based around a historical, drama. the target audience of this film could be for the older generation so people around the age of 30 and above.
4. I'm Not Scared
This film could be about a kid who has to face through many struggles and has to prove to himself and others that he isn't scared of what he has to face and that he can do it. I feel like the genre of this film would be Adventure but also a little horror. It doesn't look like it would be suitable for a younger audience despite the fact that the poster features a kid. so i would assume the target audience is for people who are around 15 and above.
5. Sin City
I think the film is about about a city filled with sinful people committing crimes and other brutal things. I think the genre of this film is thriller and action since on the poster it has guns innit which is typical in an action movie however the dark background/color setting suggest a thriller element to it as well. I would think this movie wouldn't be suitable for young teens so the target audience would be around 18 and above.
6. Pirates of the Caribbean
I think that this film is about a pirate who brings two people along with him on his quest to look for a something he deems precious. what i think the story line could be is the male and female characters are in love and their lives have been disrupted by the pirate who has manipulated them two into coming along with him. I think the genre of the film is adventure since mise-en-scene of the poster conveys that it is filled with action packed set-pieces which is shown in the middle of the poster with the sinking boat and the long tentacle. I think that the target audience for this film would be people who enjoy action/adventure movies, usually this is people who are young so around about the age of 10 onward.
7. Bride and Prejudice
I think this film is about two people wanting to get married but are from different backgrounds and the two families are in conflict because they have different opinions on the partner to be. i think the genre of this movie would have to be romantic and drama. therefore it would appeal to young teens as a target audience , also mainly female audience.
8. Million Dollar Baby
The poster of this movie suggest that it could be about a child that grows up to be worth a lot of money and her life could be in danger and hence why it looks like she might be thinking about taking up a sport like boxing to defend herself. The genre of this film could be action and drama. The target audience for this film could be for people aged 15 and above. I would assume that the majority of the audience would be female as the main antagonist is what looks like a dominating female figure which could appeal to that specific gender.
